Das Schwingfest is a new performance currently being developed for its premiere at Tanzhaus Zürich in March 2027. It began with a simple question: What if one of Switzerland’s best-known children’s songs, Mini Farb und Dini, met the power and precision of breaking?
Inspired by this idea, animal masks and movements drawn from the Swiss wrestling tradition of Schwingen gradually became part of the performance. The result is a playful, humorous, and highly physical stage work for children aged 6+ and families, where breaking, children’s music, animal masks, and elements of Swiss tradition come together in a contemporary performance celebrating imagination, diversity, and togetherness.
Following each performance, children and adults are invited to take part in a short interactive Mini Farb und Dini dance workshop, extending the experience through shared movement.
